The right kind of occasion.
The Reeling Band does not play general corporate entertainment. It plays to rooms where the guests know the country dance tradition and where that tradition is appropriate to the occasion. The distinction matters.
The right corporate engagement is one where the dancing is a natural part of the evening, not a novelty imported to it. Client entertainment dinners, annual company occasions, and private gatherings where the senior guests share the reeling tradition all fall within this category. Where the guests know Hamilton House and The Duke of Perth, the Band is at home.
Where they do not, a different kind of band is the right choice.
The occasion in practice.
A corporate reeling occasion typically takes the form of an after-dinner programme: dinner concludes, the floor clears, and the Band plays four to six dances over the course of the evening. The dancing becomes the context in which the guests talk, are introduced, and do the social work that the occasion is designed to facilitate.
The programme is agreed in advance. The Band arrives, sets up quietly, and plays. There is no MC from the Band, no announcements, no performance directed at the room. The guests dance. The evening moves.
For larger corporate occasions requiring a fuller sound, the Band extends to four or five players. Lineup and fees are discussed in correspondence.
Discretion as standard.
The Band does not photograph guests. No record of the occasion, the attendees, the host, or the venue is made for promotional purposes. Nothing appears on social media. Nothing appears anywhere.
For corporate occasions where confidentiality of attendees and proceedings is a consideration, this is not a concession made on request. It is simply how the Band operates.
All correspondence relating to the engagement is handled with the same discretion. No information from any enquiry is passed to third parties.
